I happened to be doing a favor for a friend back in September of this year, delivering a package to a business on the same floor as The Laser Cure. It was impossible to miss the brochure posted in the elevator. When I read that Low Intensity Laser Therapy is used in treating tendonitis, I was intrigued. After delivering my parcel, I ventured through the door and made an appointment for later that same day.
I had been suffering from tendonitis in my ankle for several months, my pronated foot having stretched the tendon on the inside of my ankle. i had, at that point, recently been fitted with orthotics, which helped with my plantar fasciitis, but I was still in a lot of pain. Even though I worked at a desk, by the end of each day I was in agony. My entire ankle and part of my foot would be swollen, with the inside portion of the ankle unbearable even to touch. All I wanted to do was put my feet up. I often limped because of the pain.
After only two treatments, I noticed a difference and felt so much better. the following weekend, I had a set-back when I tripped and fell doing some outside clean-up work at the cottage. After that, the pain worsened. My doctor made an appointment for me with an ankle and foot specialist here in Brampton, but when I found out it was going to be a two month wait, I was quite discouraged. I didn’t know how I was going to get through until then. Although I had been taking Advil over the course of the summer for pain and inflammation, I had stopped September and had not desire to resume taking it again.
I purchased an over-the-counter ankle splint and continued with the L.I.L.T. treatments.
Over the course of the next ten treatments, the swelling completely disappeared and the pain gradually lessened to the point where I was not longer completely focused on it.
I completed my treatments about a month ago, and my life has returned to normal. I still wear the splint and orthotics, but my activities no longer revolve around how much pain I may be feeling at any given time.
I kept my appointment with the ankle and foot specialist, and he told me to just keep on doing what I’d been doing. The tendon was not torn as I had feared.
I would recommend The Laser Cure to anyone dealing with any kind of chronic pain. Elizabeth Slonchka is a very competent technician. Her sense of humor and sympathetic nature always made me feel comfortable. She really understood, and cared about, how much pain I was in.
